New to boating I have a 89 VIP with a 2.3 liter OMC outdrive noticed oil leaking out of the lower unit. so i check oil and it is milky going to attempt changing the seals myself any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated. I guess the biggest question I have i. I have looked at videos of the process and all seam to have 2 seals back to back on the upper drive shaft on the lower unit and the kit for my unit and the diag are showing 3 O'ring. Is this going to be an issue or same process and changing regular seals?

There are 2 to seal that keep the water and oil separate. The third is to seal the cast aluminum housing where the pump impeller would be on an outboard.
It is really obvious once you get in there. I wouldnt worry about it.

Ok thanks for responding. Just never been inside an outlive before. Biggest fear is the unknown.

Ok last question for now. Do I coat the O'rings in the loctite aviation gasket sealant compound like with a regular seal or just a little oil?

As long as the sealing surfaces are smooth with no corrosion I would just use a little oil.
