I am considering buying a 95 Boston Whaler Rage 15, with an OMC engine and jet drive. Can you buy parts for these or am I setting myself up for failure???

Hi, JKermond.

I think the powerhead used in the Boston Whaler Rage boats is essentially a Johnson/Evinrude 115hp V4 outboard powerhead. Engine parts are easy to find.

Take a look on www.continuouoswave.com

JK-yes,engine parts are easy to find BUT DRIVE PARTS ARE NOT ! these are notorious for overheating problems and most(if not all) of the jetdrive parts are obsolete

Re: OMC Jet Drives

if you go to a jet drive and you are not accustom to them you will not be impressed. they are no where as efficient as a prop drive meaning less useable power and more fuel consumption, and a crummy bottom end hole shot. if jet skis had an enclosed prop rather than a jet they would be great and good on gas and go twice as fast, they arent, so we make do ,but I will not buy another jet boat only because of the loss of efficiency, really fun to operate but expensive.
