HELO AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS,I HAVE A 90 YEAR 115 JOHNSON AND I HAVE TAKEN THE HEAD OFF TO REPLACE THE HEAD GASKET.WHAT IS THE PROPER PROCEDURE FOR INSTALLING THE NEW GASKET,MEANING IS THERE A TIGHTENING PATTEREN AND HOW TIGHT TO GET THE BOLTS.THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND ADVICE . :)

Generally you start in the middle (between the two cylinders) and work your way around alternating between the upper and lower cylinders. The torque spec. is 18-20 foot pounds.

THANK YOU djohns FOR YOUR ADVICE. WHEN I REINSTALL THE GASKET DO I USE ANY SEALER ON THE HEADS OR BLOCK?

No. Just make sure both surfaces are clean. Retorque after about 10 hours use.<br /><br />I don't know if you removed the cylinder head covers-if you did that spec. is 60-84 INCH POUNDS.
