Re: OMC electric shifter

I have a 74 bayliner with electro shift......I pulled a newer shifter from a junk yard and wired up the electro shifter to a three way switch on the dash. forward position is up, nuetral is in the middle, and reverse is back. In Nuetral I can rev the engine like a car motor.......works great just dont acidentaly hit the switch in the wrong direction while accellorating.

Re: OMC electric shifter

I had one 2 years ago, same problem. After searching the net and ebay I found one up in Washington state but, he knew what he had and wanted $800 each for them(no that's not a typo) So I got on ebay and purchased a twin stick, used the taller one for the throttle and the shorter one I fabed up a bracket to mount a battery switch that was on/off/on(forward/nutral/reverse). and it worked great. Just remember any time you go into gear or out of gear you MUST be at idle.
