omc distributor

does anyone know how to cross ref. an omc 4 cyl marine distributor with the automobile version,i need the gear on the bottom of the shaft. thanx in advance for any help

If you just want to replace the gear,try your local Chevy dealer.Actually try your local GMC Truck dealer.Mine tries harder.This is assuming the gear is not available from Mercruiser.<br />DHP

OOPS or OMC.Actually if it is a 2.5 or 3.0 Liter,Either companies gear will work.If you have a 2.3 Liter,you have to deal with Ford.<br />DHP

thanx for the input guys, i tried my local junkyard, couldnt help me, marine you know, i then went to my local chevy dealer, who went on coffee break as soon as he heard it was "marine part" i got help from my auto mech who had a manual. thanx again
