Hi,
I have a Bayliner 1750 Capri Bowrider -87 with an Ford OMC Cobra 2.3L 4cyl ~130hp.
The engine is running without problem as long as You do not put any gear in.
The problem is att high rpm:s and during load, it feals that the engine is running on only 3 cyl (or even 2!?) and when I bring the speed down it dies immediately. I can then start again and it works fine at low speed and then the same again when I go for max...
I have checked the Sparc cables/plugs (new), ignition and the carburettor and can not find any faults.
Any suggestions please??

Re: OMC Dies

Hi, Check the shift cable going out to the drive unit. on the motor end, there should be a shift interuptor switch, which is wired to a little black box. This box interrupts the ignition system when you take the drive out of gear. If the cable is stiff or out of adjustment. this interrupter could be engaging, causing it to stall.
