OMC Cobra Trim/Tilt makes odd noise in one direction

PLEASE HELP! I recently got my 1989 Donzi Ragazza out of winter storage and topped off all fluids, etc and now when I raise and lower the tilt the motor makes a funny hi-pitched noise. The outdrive goes all the way down/in and back up. I added 10oz of trim fluid and ran it up and down a few times to purge the air in the system but it still makes a funny noise going down but not up.

It acts like it's working perfectly but the noise tells the tale that it is not. I know the motor is working fine but perhaps there is still air in the line?

Anyone have advise or seen something like this before? Was there something I should have done to winterize the tilt?

I had a Cobra that was doing the same thing from the day i bought it.
I found a complete used trim unit on Ebay and switched it out..
Same noise.. It worked fine for years after that but the noise was always there. Its like the pump is a higher pitch sound when trimming in..
I finally just stopped being worried about it.

Thanks Gary. Was your noise coming from the pump motor or from the actuators themselves? What's weird is it didn't make the noise last season.

My almost brand new Honda BF50D does just the same odd noise in the downwards direction. I am curious what that strange sound is........ But I will let my dealer take a look at it. The motor is under warranty. :)
