OMC cobra trim only going down not up

I have a87 Reinell with a 4.3 with OMC cobra out drive an it worked fine an then out of no where one day the trim only goes down an when I try to raise it the relay just clicks but the motor spins an turns on when I hit lower...

The older Cobras use the big relays like the old Ford starter relays. Make sure all the terminals are clean; and they have power and ground. From the remote control the blue wire is the up signal and the green is down. Sometimes the wires break inside the control.

When I purchased it i made sure it went up and down fine did it multiple times an then out of no where it wont go up now

Another question, exhaust bellow hose is cracked extremely but isn’t split in two can I still run it like that? I purchased the new one an it’s got slits in it as well just not cracked like the old one

Exhaust bellows not critical at all but the one above is critical.
You need to make sure each relay has power, ground and is getting the up or down signal. The problem can be in the connections at the relay or at the remote control switch/wiring
Concentrate on the blue wire that is the up signal to the relay

+1 on the wiring at the remote control, but if you're getting an audible reaction elsewhere to the switch activation, it may not be that. The hidden wires were pinched/damaged in mine, and I had to cut and splice.
