I got some water in my drive last year and am going to reseal complete drive. Read a lot of posts and the manual many times. Would resealing the upper drive myself and sending the lower drive to a shop be the easiest way since I don't have special tools, do I realy need alignment tool to put drive back on? Planning on changing u-joints myself also. Please any advice would help.

If you read the service manual, the upper requires special tools and a press to replace the input shaft seal.

The lower reseal can be performed by a person without a lot of special tools as long as the propshaft bearing carrier can be removed.

You should always check alignment when an outdrive is serviced.

Make sure you read and understand the factory service manual before attempting any "repairs".
