1988 Sylvan 188 with a 4.3 OMC and a Cobra outdrive. This is the first boat I've operated with power steeering. The boat seems to "wander" port and starboard at slow speeds. I'm not sure if its me or if its a problem, but it's seems difficult to hold a course. Is there an adjustment to eliminate the steering slop?

I'd say that's normal for all boats at slow speed, I doubt you'll notice any "slop' under power, especially when planing.

Mik, thanks for the response. I'll find out tomorrow, hopefully, if the wind goes down a bit. Oneida lake was a bit rough today, so we cruised the canal for a few hours.

Very common for a sterndrive boat to wander at slow speed.
A set of Smart Tabs would cure that problem.
