I have a 1988 OMC cobra with a 5.0 Chevy small block and the impeller is not pulling in any water after replacing housing and impeller .......It worked fine once , then turned it off and it would not work again. .....I did notice that the screws are bent ..could this be a result of air absorption????? any suggestions please?????? Im going crazy ..........

What screws are bent?? The housing screws?? If so, not right. Did you twist the impeller clock-wise when you installed?? If not, it might work once......Pull it back down.

How are you testing the pump, hopefully not in a bucket because the impeller will not pull up water it has to be completely submerged to work.

no with the ears .........

The pressure from the hose should be forcing water past the pump and up to the motor. Time to pull it apart and find out what went wrong.

you were right the preassure from the hose should be forcing the water up. My mechanic said the same thing and apparently it was faulty ear muffs........
