I HAVE A 1988 BAYLINER 2.3 I/O OMC COBRA STERN DRIVE... I REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC ASSIST SHIFT MODULE BUT I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM... COULD IT BE THE REVERSE GEAR IS STRIPPED..<br />WHEN I ENGAGE IN REVERSE THE PROP GOES CLOCKWISE...PLEASE HELP...

I had the same problem with my Cobra. I don't understand what you mean when you say it turns clockwise in reverse? Does it turn by hand and never lock into gear? JSAN...myabe you could go back to the begining, the ESA module has nothing to do with what direction the prop shaft turns, it's sole purpose in life is to slow the engine rpm's down to make shifting in and out of gear easier.
