Few days noticed that i have a small hole in my u-joint bellows that have bee replaced about 2 years ago.It seems that damage was caused by the clamp. Otherwise they feel soft and seem like would last a few more years if would not ripped. Please see picture attached.

Also, my exhaust bellows seem to be fairly old, how important to replace them? Are they important?

Howdy,

You need to replace the U-joint bellows. That entire area will fill with water if you don't, resulting in U-joint failure, gimbal bearing failure and/or water intrusion into the drive.

The exhaust bellows can (and frequently does) have holes in them (they're manufactured that way)

My previously installed King Cobra 460 ran without an exhaust bellows for more than 10 years and no one noticed and it didn't hurt a thing.

Regards,

Rick

The clamp should have been at the 1:00 position to keep it from rubbing the bellows.
Not important to replace ex bellows unless it's coming apart.
