OMC Cobra 5.0 Carb Fuel Leak

I did a quick search and couldn't find a someone with the same problem. I noticed a little bit of fuel dripping down the fuel line just above where the solid fuel line connects to the carb. It appears the grey coating on the connection has split/cracked allowing fuel to leave out when the engine in started.

Information about my boat:

92 Reinell 196brxl
OMC Cobra 5.0L - Ford 302
Drive Model #: 987090

I believe it's a 2V Carb and I'm not sure if a rebuild kit would fix this problem. If I can't rebuild the carb what are my options for a new Carb? I've included a couple pictures that may help.

Thanks.

Re: OMC Cobra 5.0 Carb Fuel Leak

This is a common leak area, when I rebuild carbs I JB Weld all cap plugs closed. Clean the area really well with a small wire brush and some carb cleaner, and JB Weld that entire area until it is domed up... leak fixed...

If it is leaking around the bowl, some times tightening the screws will help, normally the accelerator pump will be the cause of a leak, and that normally too can be stopped by a little tightening. Don't crank on them, turn them until they feel snug... the accel pump screws will require the removal of the carb.. and if you are going to take it off, rebuild it if you have the knowledge.. kits are cheap ( plus to fill in that plug with JB Weld will likely require the carb sitting on it's side)

Accelerator pump screws ONLY require removal of the float bowl (fuel line and 4 screws) not the entire carb.
fix is right for your leak, clean and JB Weld or epoxy the area. Grey coating is only paint and not any kind of sealer.
If you think you need to lay the bowl on it's side, just remove the bowl. It may make it easier to clean the area too.
Make sure you work the repair material in to the area for best sealing, and let cure the recommended amount of time.

But don't remove the bowl unless you have a replacement gasket , and if you are going to buy a bowl gasket, might as well buy a kit and replace all the gaskets, and if you have a rebuild kit... the carb is off anyways... make sense?

Trust me, the gasket on a 20+ year old Holley, is going to be stuck and crunchy

And if you do get bowl gaskets, get the blue ones. They are alot better than the brown ones.

Thanks for the quick replies! I just ordered a rebuild kit ( Sierra International part #18-7244 ) and will pick up some JB weld today. A friend of mine who has rebuilt a ton of car carbs will be helping me out.
