OMC Audible Engine Warning when Tabbing

When I use my trim tabs, the "Alternator" alarm sounds. I know my alt is fine, and I have brand new (2 week old) batteries.. no elect. problems at all. I suspect the range is out of whack but dont know if there is a way to adjust it. Also, the OIL Pressure (low) warning sounds too when I come down to idle after cruzing. I had to disconnect the oil sensor because it became extremely annoying while docking at the marina (buzzin in my ear constantly).

Obviously, I dont like disconnecting the critical system warnings, so I'm wondering if there is a way to adjust the range of these warning systems, or if I should need to replace a sensor, or guage.

Thanks!

On the tabs you would need to hook up and electric meter to the battery and see how low the voltage is really droping when your useing them

A bad connection or wire or pump can draw a lot of extra current

On the oil pressure i would temp in a REAL mechanical guage and see what the oil pressure is really doing it may be getting low and you need to find out

Do you think I need to check volt drop ? It's an "alternator" warning (I guess there would be extra load on the alt if drawing too many amps?)

As far as the oil pressure, I do have mechanical guages for each engine. At cruze there read around 70, then when I immediately drop down to idle, then go down to around 30, then ease back up to around 40-50. So I dont think its really low pressure, judging by the guage.

Does the low oil alarm go off on both engines, if not you could swap them around pretty quick and see if it's a flaky sensor switch. The "low oil" is a switch where as the oil pressure gauge is feed by the oil pressure sending unit, 2 different units.

I have seperate analog guages for pressure, but both engines are wired to a single "System Warning" guage. The guage has Oil Pressure, Water Temp, and Alt. warning lights. If either engine has trouble with one of these systems, it goes off. I guess I could disconnect one engine at a time, to see if the faulse reading is coming off one side, but no other way to swap guages.

Ok...didn't realize that both engines fed a common alarm panel. I didn't mean to swap "System Warning" gauges but the senders themselves assuming you could narrow it down to which engine. My boat has separate alarms for both engines however the low oil and high temp are wired together (the 2 senders are wired in apraleel at the engine) so if an alarm goes I know which engine but don't know if it's oil or temp. Never had it happen yet but I always figured the analog gauges would show me if it was oil or temp. Maybe you can narrow it down to either engine as you suggested above?
