omc 60hp 1992 to 1996 parts interchange?

I have a good running 1992 3 cylinder 60hp Johnson with cable controls. There is a 1996 3 cylinder 60hp Johnson of the same configuration for sale locally with a bad top end. I know that the bottom end is interchangeable with my 1992, what other parts interchange? Does the CDI and other ignition parts interchange? The Control harness, instruments, controls, etc... ?

There are lots of rocks in Great Slave Lake and bottom ends tend to not last too long so I'm thinking of picking up the 1996 motor as a parts unit for my 1992.
