We have a 1993 OMC 5.0L EFI 200 HP I/O, we have had it on the water a couple times & can not get it running right...We have changed the alternator, coil & battery with no change...We have checked the alternator output & it is charging 14.9 to 16.2 volts then the engine dies after about 2-3 minutes at operating temp...Can anyone tell us where to look next? We are at a loss of where to go & have way too much money in new flooring & upholstery to give up on the boat now...Thank you for any & all help...

Have you changed the fuel filter, the motor needs good fuel supply to run continuously. I doubt voltage is your problem.

Think we found & solved the problem...We changed distributor with no change, then checked the ground to the back of the altenator & it was weak, so we ran a direct ground to the battery & ran boat for approx. 30 minutes with 14.4 volts...We will take it to the lake tomorrow to see if its really fixed or not...Wish us luck!!!
