omc 5.0 HO / cobra outdrive gear ratios

I bought a used leg (origional application unknown) bolts up ok not sure as to ratios of my origional or this used unit any imput as to preformance between different ratios also any practical way to varify gear ratios / preformance of this old 1990 24'er overloaded hard used boat is in question have played with prop pitch can get 4000+ rpm buy boy no guts for following seas thanks for any help

James,<br /><br />Not sure on your performance questions... but the best way to verify what gearing you have is to count the teeth on the gears themself. ( OMC Gearing ) Maybe someone else can comment on performance. Good luck!<br /><br />SS182
