Just got my Reman long block back and starting my re-assembling process. I have a question on the eng circulation water pump. I'm running fresh water (closed loop) on eng and thought I could use just a regular auto pump since I'm fresh water but the pump I purchased from Napa is not like my old one. Basicaly there is 2 more bolt holes in the auto pump and water channeling is slightly defferent. Now I'm guessing the original motor did not have fresh water and later was installed. so probably the water pump is a raw water pump and slightly defferent ????? Didn't think that OMC had specialy casted the timing cover and water pump??? And Last, Did OMC use a older model for the 460 or possibly 429 ???
