Bought an electric oil pump to draw the used oil from my engine. The kit included a hose that has a female garden hose fitting, which would screw over the OMC 4.3's threads at the top of the dipstick tube. Great - that would eliminate having to use the long probe drain hose.

But, the pump's garden hose fitting is too big for the dipstick's threads, and just slides over them.

What gives here? Do I have to buy some type of pipe adapter to get a pump hose to fit the OMC's dipstick threads?
