Have 1987 Sea Swirl with 4.3 L V6, Hull filled with water while in storage, need to rebuild. is <br />this a GMC, or did OMC have this built?

It is a GMC block, marinized by OMC and also by Mercury.<br /><br />The marinization could include manifold, carb, cam, starter, alternator, etc., besides the drive units.<br /><br />Local shops that refit engines for a business can tell you how generic an engine you can buy.
