OMC 4.3 horsepower

I've searched this forum and other places on the internet and I can't find out the rated horsepower of the OMC 4.3 Chevy V6. Can anyone help?? <br /><br />Mike

Depending on weather it is carb, FI, LX, L, GL or whatever. Between 180 and 210. 190 is very common.<br /><br />Craig

Dually,<br /><br />Really need to know: year (best estimate). You can find the year by looking on the upper right hand corner of the boat. There will be a 17 digit number embossed (or a tag). That's the Hull ID #. The last two digits (if I remember right) denote year of manufacture.<br /><br />The 4.3 could range from 160 to 210. Knowing the marinizer (OMC, MerCruiser, Volvo) would be a big help.<br /><br />As Merc140 said, the model designation makes a difference too.

Let me add mine to the question.<br /><br />1987 OMC 4.3 with 2 barrel carb. Can't find any printed hp facts.

Lark40....if I remember right yours would be 175hp and the 4 barrel or HO or King Cobra version of the 4.3 was 205hp
