OMC 4.3 engine removal/replacement

I unfortunately cracked the block in my 1988 FOUR WINNS(sterndrive OMC 4.3 V6)

. I am thinking of replacing the engine myself and had a few questions:<br /><br />1) At first glance, it doesn't look too complicated to remove/replace the engine. I have removed,rebuilt and replaced FORD engines before in cars, but I am no expert. Am I fooling myself, or is this something a buddy and I should attempt.<br /><br />2) I am thinking of purchasing a new upper drive assembly from boatmotors.com. If I'm gonna replace the engine, could I easily mount a 5.0L or 5.7L OMC? What issues do I need to consider if I upgrade from the 4.3L to the 5.0L?<br /><br />3) Can anyone tell me where I can buy a good set of manuals, that would cover engine removal and replacement?
