OMC 230 Where can I find info?

I just purchased an '82 Celebrity with a OMC 230 Engine/outdrive. I know nothing about it, what engine it is etc... Need to do some basic repairs, but don't really know where to get any specs. I've searched the web to no avail for ANY info on OMC. <br /><br />Any help apreciated

Let me take a wild guess. OMC used some Ford engines. Ford made 4 cylinder 2.3 liter engines in the 70's and 80's. Could be what you have. Ford made many millions of them.<br /><br />Check the web for Clymer, Seloc, or OMC books that cover OMC Sterndrive engines. You should find something that helps describe your engine.

It's a Chevy small block V8... going to try to get some #'s off it tonight.
