older Suzuki tach connections for 6 pole?

I have an older Suzuki tach I am trying to connect to my 1985 Suzuki DT55 control box but can't find out how to set it for 6 pole operation for my engine. <br />It works OK at 12 pole except for showing half the revs, i.e. WOT at 2650 RPM .Connected for 4 pole it gives 7000 RPM plus at WOT.<br /><br />Don't know what combination to try next...Any suggestions??<br /><br />Only 2 wires come off the tach which is what the manual shows for wiring a tach to the control box so there must be some other way to get 6 pole operation.
