older model mercury

I have an older model Mercury 8 hp model that<br />needs new sparkplugs. I am unable to locate<br />the serial numbers to pass along to the dealer. Does anyone have any idea what type <br />plugs to use, or where I can find the serial <br />number??<br />thanks

it should be on the transom mount somewhere. If not its on the powerhead somewhere.

Glenn we have to narrow it down a bit...like which decade...does it have a metal cowling or fiberglass?
