Old Zodiac with no instructions

Hello,

I've just bought an old Zodiac (1989 i think) and can't find any info about it anywhere. It is black PVC with a yellow rubbing strap and has 'Series 1' on the front and '380' on the side. it has wooden floorboards and no rope or anything around the tubes to hold on to. Does anyone know anything about these boats? Are they ok?

Also it doesn't say anywhere on the boat what pressure the tubes and inflatable keel should be when inflated - can anyone help? What are the optimum pressures of other zodiacs of this age?

Thanks in anticipation of your help... I'm new to this boating lark, but have learnt loads already from previous threads.

inflate during noon when the temperature is high. the pressure is ok when the chamber can hold your weight without bend too much.
Never let the boat out of the water overinflated because the pressure will rise a lot and there is a great possibility to have problem with the transom

Thanks Miker-gr.

Does anyone know the actual bar/psi for the tubes and inflatable keel for old zodiacs?

Thanks Deejaycee.

Should the keel be a higher pressure than the tubes? if so, how much?

I saw your zapcat photos in waves from a previous thread = RAD!

When i go over small chop in my 3.8m zodiac with a 25hp yamaha on the back the whole thing bends from the floor and is very un-nerving! maybe this is because i haven't been putting enough air in the tubes?

I'll post a picture of my boat next week.

yes the keel must be not more than 0,4 bar, and the main pontoons not more than 0,2 bar .... if it bends then you know you need more air .....

On both my MK1 and MK3, pontoon pressure is 240mbars, and keel is LESS THAN that at 220mbars.

Re: Old Zodiac with no instructions

Thanks for help with my pressures guys...

Here is my boat, does anyone know anything about this model? - I've never seen one before and can't find any pictures/info on the internet. I believe it was made in 1989.

The Plate is written in french and has Modele: S138, Serie 2328, XDC H0422 A989.

It is quite unusual because the tubes seem huge . Another strange thing is there are no original handles/ropes.

Thanks again!
