I have a rare old wood Sunfish ('66?) that had a self-bailer in the cockpit. The threads stripped on the male end and the cap was lost. Have searched many old marine stores but no luck. Currently I have just jury-rigged it so we dont flood but its not too reliable.

Would appreciate ideas or referrals to other resources for OLD Sunfish (if there are any)! Thanks!

I would replace it with a new style one. they still make the bailers. WWW.TEAMVANGUARD.COM makes the sunfish. FOGH MARINE: www.foghmarine.com
1800-342-3644 sells the bailers that replace the one on your sunfish. It is Item number #79260 bailer Complete with 13/16" cap and Item number #79266 Bailer complet with 1-5/16" cap, you can also buy the ball item# 79332 that incudes a washer and is in a packageof five. the bailers complete are in the 60 buck range (54.99 and 59.99 canadian you can also ask about bailer parts item numbers #43604, 43605, 43608, 65087

43608 is the cap of the bailer. those four numbers are all under 16.00 canadian (this store is in ontario but they have the best prices!)

Good luck!
