Old Volvo sterndrives??

Any major issues with the old [late 60's, early 70's] Volvo stern drives?? Are they useable? Major issues? what to check out?

ive got twin 74 volvo 280's on mine. when i removed them i was prepared to need to do some work, as they had sat neglected for 10 years, turns out all they needed was a little cosemetic painting. Oil inside was clean and free of milk, and all the gears and bearings where rust free and moved easily..

IMO they are pretty tough little things... they still hold a value, i have had friends sell simular 280 legs for up to 2000.

Im going to look at a old Coronet that I belive has two of them. I will get more info when I take a look at it, and give you more info.
