Old trolling motor, Motor Guide III question

Bought an old (1976) 14" Monarch fiberglass stick steer 35hp Johnson Seahorse. It's got this old trolling motor on the front with pedal control, all is working well. It's just kind of a weak trolling motor and I was wondering if there is any way to put a stonger motor on it or get more out of it without replacing the whole motor.

While I'm asking questions, who makes a good repair manual for the 35hp Johnson Seahorse? First outboard and I would like to eventually overhaul it or do whatever I can at home to fix it up.
