Just trying to install this tachometer and not sure what each connection is supposed to be. Can anyone identify them for me?

Is this even a tach for a gas motor?

I believe it is a tach for an electric motor made by US Electric Motors which is still in business making electric motors.

So GA_Boater do you think it can be adapted for a gas motor? Appears it was used previously for a gas motor I just don't know what the connections are.

No, it cant be used on a gas motor. it can be used on a generator if it is reading the generator end. however by the looks of the connections, it was on a long-discarded genny.

electrical connections should never have rust.........ever

Why would you want a tach that has a low end accuracy that starts at 4,000 rpm when idle rpm is about 650 - 700 rpm and red line is 5,000 - 6000 rpm. This tach is useless on a boat.
