Re: Old Sea King Motor Question

I have a 1957 model Sea King 5hp 2cyl water cooled that still runs good. You will need to run a 20:1 fuel/oil mix. The engine was designed to run 16:1 but oils have improved a lot in 45 years. Use lots of choke and adjust the idle/run mixture after you start it. Unleaded is fine. I replaced the magnetos in mine a number of years ago. That is the only thing I have ever had to do to the unit. Good luck.

Hi...just in case anyone is interested I found an old Post on Sea King, apparently made by Clinton Engine Corp, 605 E. Maple St, Maquota, Iowa, 52060....319-652-2411...I would assume a good source for parts, manuals etc....thx...Short :)
