Hi all,
I've been trolling here for about a year, haven't posted much, more in learning mode than anything. I have a 1988 Sea Doo sp, last year goobered up the splines on the motor end of shaft under normal operation. I pulled pump off last week, and when comparing the shaft to the one I had replaced years ago, same issue. Now as I look at the splines on the flywheel, it doesn't look like much bite is left. I need to get this out and take a close look at it to decide if I need to replace, so I need to take off magneto cover?, and bolt something on to stop motor from spinning, then get a spline tool to put on pto end. If I have no splines to bite on, I'm wondering how hard it is going to be to remove this. Are there alternate methods to remove the flywheel, am I on the right track. I also notice when looking at back of boat, through the bearing on hull, it is slightly out of line with flywheel spline. What is the correct way to fix. Thanks for any info. Great site, bought a boat this year and man am I thankful I found this place first.
