I need to find manuals for a 1955 10hp johnson and a 1954 25 hp mercury please help me . I have inherited these motors and a 1954 14ft v-bottom Duracraft boat

If you can give us the Model numbers, we can help.<br /><br />Serial numbers usually aren't enough.

You have a choice about the model (not serial)numbers: either place a post here under a new heading like "What year are these outboards?" Or you can go to the below site. The link to "modelguide" will be obvious even though the home page is in swedish. http://www.marinshopen.se/ <br /><br />The Old Outboard Book lists all makes of older motors by model numbers. Your '55 Johnson 10 hp should be QD-16. listed on a plate on the stern bracket. I don't have Merc info, but you can find that on the link.

Hi Chicken<br /> Your motor is a 1954 model. Do you want a copy of that owners manual I offered you? If so ether e-mail me or post your e-mail address. The only thing it will cost you is a thank you.

Hi Chicken<br /> I sent you the OMC info. I am sorry I<br />don't have the same for your <br />merc. How ever if you will post your ser# and model name (if known) I will look to see what info I do have. The public library is a very good sourse for info on some of this older stuff also. The basic general idea of the info I sent you is kind of tranferable to all outboards of this era. You just have to switch hats. If your working on a Scott-Atwater, you need to be wearing your Scott-Atwater hat, working on a Martin same thing, ETC.
