Old Mercury Mark 25

Hi, I have a Mercury Mark 25 Serial# 1039435 that I'm trying to get running . I don't have any history on it. Does anyone know the proper plugs and gap for this motor. It seems there is limited info for older Mercury outboards. Thanks

J6C gapped at .025. point gap if you need it is .020

Laddies, Thanks I will pull the flywheel and check the point gap. Do you know how to set the timing if needed?

To set the timing you will need a timing plug or dial indicator, if someone hasn't timkered with it it will be OK and has nothing to do with starting at all.
