Old Merc. SN.1514931?

I have this old boat and dont know what year the motor is but believe it is a 68 100hp 6c. ordered a seloc manual..is it worth working on.

it must be a 1962 100, there are a lot still being used around here, if it seems to fuction alright, if probable is is ck compression and the gear case condions and go from there. I can't see the engine and if I could just looking at it would be guessing, good luck---Bob

thanks for the reply. I did buy seloc manual that is right but not as good as the other. I have done a lot of mechanic work. on cars. will check the compressiion and other things after the book arrives. latter.

laddiesservice <br />From the serial # that was posted (Old Merc. SN.1514931?) it comes back as a 63, although probably not much differance. Mine is a 62 1000, so far a good motor. Loves gasoline!
