Old merc. 9.9 need a obsolete part

I was given by a friend a old 9.9, motor runs great except only on one cylinder. The stator wires are very old and one has crumbled apart up under the flywheel. I have research the part and no one makes it anymore. Any advise/options. SN# 3610930. Thanks

maybe someone has some ideas for used parts. looks like a 1973, the stator available, goes upto 1971. someone should have an idea what the difference was

Thanks Diaric for the info on the age, I have no problem with use parts if they are available. The motor is used by my kids, and currently one cylinder is doing them fine. I want to get it running up to par for me.
