Old Mariner 25 CM, need some information.

Hello,
How old is this engine? Mariner 25 CM, 695 S 001090, Made In Japan.

I read from hear that "C" is a model and "M" means manual start. "S" means short (rigi, rigg) I dont know what thats in english.. You see what I mean..
Mariner identifikation, fastst?ll serienummer, modellkod.

So I look at that list but I cant find any 25 CM engine what match with that serial: 001090. Only 25 M, 695-000101 - 695-003445. That means its 1979..?
