I have a couple of questions regarding this motor. The Model appears to be QD-15, it could be OD-15. The sn is 1190661. Can someone tell me what year this is, or where to find out? Also, I could use a proper manual for this motor. It appears to be in pretty good shape although I haven't tried to start it yet. I have been told that it needs the carb rebuilt. Is there a good source for older motors like this? Thanks.

Hi, Jack.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats. :) <br /><br />Not a good idea to post your Email addy. Too many freaks and crooks want it.<br /><br />QD-15 is a 1954 engine.<br /><br />Fuel mix is 24:1<br />Plugs are Champion J6C gapped at .030"<br />Set points at .020"<br /><br />You can get an aftermarket manual here: http://www.boatmotors.com/manuals.html <br /><br />Or a reprint of the original OEM manual (I recommend it) from kencook.com<br /><br />Good luck. :)

Re: Old Johnson Sea Horse 10

Thanks for the info. I thought it might be a 54 as that is the same year that I am (ha ha). I had found a post that listed the next years 10 horse as a QD16 with a serial number that was a little ahead of this one.<br /><br />Would you suggest a source for a carb rebuild kit? Thanks, Jack<br /><br />I will try to check on the email situation. I must have told them to put it on, but will check on that. Thanks again.

For a reprint of original OEM manual, you might want to check marineengine.com and compare prices.
