Old Honda 7.5 4s

Trying to get and OLD Honda 4 stroke running. Need to know year to order parts.
SN on engine: B75 2009272 (NOT BF)
I believe it is a 7.5hp Other tags on clamp bracket, etc not readable/scratched beyond reading.
It has an Orange cover.

Needing Points and Impeller Maybe carb kit. Need to get spark first!

This is the only site that I have found to somewhat help. You may just trying calling a dealer and giving them the number.

Thanks, I have that chart. This motor is prior to them being imported in to the US, maybe from Canada? Early 70's.
I think I found enough info to trouble shoot (no spark) but need to find part numbers. Looking like maybe the spark coil.
Problem the SN starts with B (unknown) and not BF (USA).

Search found a service manual I was able to download for $7.49. Great to have BUT no part numbers.

It might be to the point where you just have to give it your best guess and go with that. Hopefully you get it right or can at least exchange the parts. Maybe you could take your old parts to a dealer and cross reference them that way.

Yea, I am thinking I may have to match parts somewhere. It's for my neighbor. He want's to fishing on the 20th. Don't think that's gonna happen. Now if I can just find my old analog volt meter I can test the coils.

i have a simualr motor its the 10hp version ones i dident have any spark it vas the sensor next to the gear lever so i just by pased it and i can even start it in gear witch often coms in handy...

Hello, I need help testing no spark condition on my b75 honda 4 stroke. Can you share what you found?

There should be a date stamped into the spark plug wire. I have a 73 Honda 7.5, first one Honda came out with. B75.

Is it both spark plugs not firing? I had a similar condition. It was a rusty connection coming from the stator. Look right below the recoil and there should be a stud with wiring attached. That's where I found rust. Disconnect the kill switch too. Eliminate that as a possible source of the problem.

I would imagine any B or BF with the points ignition should be interchangeable for these motors. I have 3. 73-76-78. Minor changes between them.
