Hey all! I recently purchased an old Hiawatha brand fiberglass boat. It's 16' in length with a cabin and I bought it to completely revamp...

I'm curious about the origins of the boat. I can't find any information at all regarding boats made by Hiawatha, let alone this specific model. I was told it's a 1969 from the seller, however I'm not sure where that information came from.

Any information would be awesome! :)

Cheers,
Brenden

Believe that's just motors MT.

Okay, that is what I found on a quick search...

Unfortunately on these older boats the brand really does not matter much, many of them were built the exact same way as the others and nobody really knows until they dig into them...

the issue with boat manufacturers is many went defunct prior to the internet. many of the boat builders that went under only build a few boats. doesnt make them rare or valuable, just makes them difficult to find info on.

The 60s through the mid 80s were like a boat building frenzy. EVERYONE made trailer boats, and like Scott said many (if not "most") went under after just making boats for a few years. Hiawatha doesn't even show up at Fiberglassics, and the hull looks like a knock-off Dorsett.

Doesn't make it a bad boat. I like those old half cabin styles.

Welcome aboard.

The Rude on the back is a 1958, if that helps.

Hi Brenden, I know this is an old message, just wondering if you every restored this boat. This was my uncles boat and he (since passed) had it for many years and kept it at his weekend place up in Glen Arbor. I have memories riding in it out to the islands. Hope you were able to get your answers.
