Old Gas

Hi,<br /> I have a 1984 mercury 75 horse ob. I left a tank of oil/gas pre-mix in a 6 gal. tank about three months ago. I am wondering if the gas is still usable or if their will be dire consequences if I use the gas this weekend. Thanks in advance.

Well, for $15 in gas, this is a moot point. But, you 'probably' won't have any problems using the old gas. I certainly have done this exact scenario. But, the smart thing is to toss the gas and move on.

Take a 'whiff', if it still smells fresh it'll probably be OK.<br /><br />If it's starting to smell a bit 'punky', probably not so good an idea to use it in your motor. <br /><br />Better to use it in an old lawn mower or weed-whacker which probably won't care if the gas is not April Fresh!<br /><br />Have a Fun-Filled and Safe Holiday Weekend........ed
