Old Evinrude motor

I just bought a boat that has an old Evinrude motor. Where do I find a serial number on it? It says "Speeditwin" on the back of the cover.

Hi Spirit,<br /> Poke around the clamp bracket area a bit and see if you can't find a plate with the model and serial number on it. The model name Speeditwin was used on a number of different motors over the years, so the numbers will narrow it down. If the clamp bracket plate is missing, then check for a freeze plug somewhere on the rear portion of the cylinder block. It'll have the numbers stamped in it, too.<br />- Scott
