old evinrude #4348-02148 need info???

searching for any information on an old Evinrude outboard motor #4348-02148 <br />my wife bought it at a yard sale for me and I can't seem to find any information about it??<br />need the year and/or model name and/or horsepower? any information would be greatly appreciated. also do they have repair mauals for these, as I am a automobile mechanic I have no knowledge of small engine repair -- any suggestions??

Hi, Rubber.<br /><br />That is a 1948 2HP Evinrude.<br /><br />Use Champion J8C plug, gapped at .030, and set the points at .020.<br /><br />Proper fuel mix is 24:1, Unleaded regular and TCW-3 outboard oil.<br /><br />Good luck.

I don't know if a 'Rude dealer would still be able to get you a coil, Rubber, but I'll bet the guys at www.aomci.org or www.twincityoutboard.com can find you one.<br /><br />Good luck.
