I bought a 1978 Saf-T-Mate, Four Winns 18' bowrider 3.0/140 mercruiser off Ebay last November. Taking it out this spring I was surprised at the performance, quick out of the hole and on step fast. I havent skied in 20 years but did enjoy a slalom course in my day:D.
It has a michigan prop, 15" diameter and I'm guessing 17 pitch, no clue.

I believe the prop could be better...
At around 200lbs, do you believe I may be able to get up behind this boat? I'm a pretty good submarine immitator:D

That 130 is marginal for slalom. Don't put many people in the boat, and you may want to drag a leg getting up. I switched to a 4.3 for that reason years ago.

Re: Old Boat Skiing

That's what I figured. I hope to have fun this summer and maybe trade up this fall or next spring. For sure I'll plop myself behind and try to hold my breath long enough to get up... otherwise I'll drop a ski.
The grandkids are my focus. 11 yrs - 2 yrs. Teaching as many of them to ski should compel the argument of keeping a boat around. That's my plan anyway. :D
