Hey guys my boss at work has an old Sea-King 12 hp. Is that a Montgomery Ward brand? I'm always partial to Johnson and Evinrude because they've stood the test of time. But can you still find parts for the Sea-King? Is it worth my time? Thanks

yes, however would the old motor be worth the price of the parts?

A lot depends on the year/model, but many (but not all) parts are the same as Johnson and Evinrude. You get them from the same sources (including here at iboats)

It can be a mixed bag with those old Gale motors. Some are still able to get parts for while others, no. A 12 from about 1954 through 1959 is a fine motor. If it has a F-N-R shift then it has the same midsection & lower unit as the same year Johnson 10 through 1957 or 15 / 18 horse through the end of Gale 12 production. If it has a remote tank then it is a single hose non-pressurized tank with a motor mounted fuel pump (Gale used them all the way back to 1955 on the 22 horse and never used pressure tanks).

Earlier 12s went back to 1949 and were the block on which the 50-52 Evinrude Fastwin 14 was based (combined with Johnson's QD-10 lower unit).

I have a 1951 Sea King 5hp - (Gale 5D10). They were sold by Montgomery Ward. I was able to find most parts - did have some trouble finding a powerhead base gasket, but everything else was readily available. Magneto parts are the same as Evinrude/Johnson, as are many other parts.
