Okay tow vehicle??

Just had a quick question for you guys?? I am was thinkintg about purchasing a Subaru Outback. The engine is a 160hp with 166lbs of tourque. I was looking at tow packages and I can get 1.5" Reciver rated at 2,400lbs for the vehicle to tow. I have a 17' Chris Craft with a fibergkass hull. Do you think this would be a sufficent vehicle to tow my boat with??

No, AFishin. <br /><br />Your CC loaded and ready to launch will weigh over 2500lb.<br /><br />To tow with an acceptable safety margin you need a mininmum of 3500lb. tow rating.<br /><br />The Outback is a really nice car. One of my daughters recently bought an Outback with the H6 engine. It is great, but I wouldn't tow over 2,000lb with it.<br /><br />Good luck.

Even then it would have alot of trouble pulling a boat up a wet ramp...
