Dave's post http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?p=3017219&posted=1#post3017219 has given me an idea.
It's off season here just like the rest of the "Northern" areas. Need something to do? I suggested that Dave volunteer within his community and now I will expand upon it a bit.
We have GREAT people here on iboats........ skilled in a multitude of area's.....they can fix just about anything. I know that Andy in NY does a tremendous amount of volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity (Yup, Andy I let the secret out!!). Aspeck is VERY active within his community with the Church, Fire and rescue and anywhere the community needs help. I am sure there are more volunteer's among us willing to lend a hand.
My wife works for the Women's network and I do allot of "helping" where I can........ I have a pick-up truck that has picked up and delivered free furniture....... collected food for the food shelf....... picked up donations and always keep the volunteering and donation aspect at the front of my thinking...... spreading the word of mouth helps.
I know that people need rides to hospitals, shopping assistance and more..... it's good for the karma.
A community as large as iboats could really make an impact helping other's.
BTW the Southern boater's can still volunteer and help within their communities too!!
What are your suggestions?
