Re: ok show your age...

Going to need at least a description the Scott-Atwater 7.5 dates back to 47
Model 473,I'm going to guess yours is from the early years from the Scott-Atwater name.47,48 were straight drive,Some 49s were straight drive but full shift was also introduced.I believe it was a regular style to 59.and became
a low profile in 60.I believe Scott Atwater was purchased by McCulloch around 56 was shortened to Scott, by 60 McCulloch.McCulloch jumped into the horsepower race building a 75 hp 63cu in 3 cylinder in 62.When Evinrude was a 79 cube 75hp V4 and Merc was building a straight 6 76 cube 80hp.
As far as parts depending on the year there may be some here at Iboats.
Otherwise The Antique outboard motor club aomci.org or perhaps the scott guy.
Scott Atwaters were ok motors but now are pretty far outside the parts loop.

Serial number will tell the story. Otherwise it's a shot in the dark. Does it have the Bail-A-Matic boat bailer pump? At least if it's green and gold it isn't the low profile. That's a good thing!!! If it is a Bail-A-Matic, that's a bad thing. Well, they were good motors with troublesome water pumps.

My guess is about 56.Model number will help date it 3365 is 56 reverse the 65.
These motors are definately collectable. Not necessarily hugely valuable but fefinately collector interest. What kind or type of boat came with it?
