After 12 month's of having this 20p 4 blade stilletto, i have come to the conclusion i have too much lift, that is at any speed when i trim her out for effeincy the damm boat just skipp's accross the water like a flat rock.

Now at first this may seem to kool, but it has become a pain in the arse, if i trim her down i lose 3-5 mph at 30 mph but it cut's the chop without bouncing my kidney's from my head to my arse.

Umm so what do i do.......and why does this boat act in such a extreme way......or is this just the nature of itall

I can tell you that my boat gets to skipping at around 45+, under that she is smooth as silk even in moderately choppy water's.
I have really been practicing on long runs to trim her right. There is a sweet spot for me right where you feel the drag lift off the front.
Anymore than that and it's bump,bump,bump...
But like I mentioned in the first sentence, she will skip on me unless I shove her nose down above 45.
Just chiming in, wanted to see what responses you get..

Sounds like you're saying you have too much stern lift. Which a 4 blade tends to have.

Good point - it could be that you are having to over-trim to compensate for the increased stern lift.

I had thought about a post along these line's, "Does Your Boat Have A Sweet Spot" Yes RC at about 40-45 it's a very narrow speed range that the boat will slice a 1-2' chop very nicely. But i really dont like to cruise at that speed with the wife and sometime's i dont like it.

Well if went to a 22p enertia which reportedly has bow lift, could this be a good solution. I have done some research indicating that the bigger prop's (enertia's) are a bit off the mark or do not perform as well as a smaller pitched prop, dunno if this is just speculation or fact?

Prop's i have tried are
Stilletto 21p 3 blade 5000@55.1 / 8% slip
Stilletto 20p 4 blade 4900@54 / 3%
Stilletto 22p 4 blade 4400@53.4 / 4%
